Review: Les Chansons D’amour (Love Songs)

Les Chansons D’Amour is a musical movie by Christophe Honoré initially tells a story about 3 individual involved in 3some, Ismaël (played by Louiss’Oh so dazzlingly handsome’ Garrel), Julie and Alice. Even though she suggest it at first Julie who was Ismael real lover is not very happy with their 3some relationship and always demanding confirmation of Ismael love to her which Ismael finds ridiculous since Julie is really the only one he loved.
Things change when tragedy strookes, one night Julie die and Ismael fell into pit of agony cause he couldn’t forget her, even Alice can’t really heal his wounds. Alice at the time already found a new lover whose brother Erwaan (played by cutey boy Grégoire Leprince-Ringuet ) fell in love with Ismael and tries very hard to win his heart ^o^. Can Erwaan help Ismael forget Julie?? well of course he can ;p but watch the movie to see how, you won’t regret it!!

hyaa akhirnya jadi juga nonton Love song di Q film festival tahun ini! ureshii~ >_< setelah tahun lalu Pipit yg berkorban jadi escort tahun ini giliran Faisal hehe ;p (makasih ya) maklumin temen kalian yg punya hobi rada aneh ini ya ;p muri yari sasete gomenne

Anyway i’m so smitten by this movie ~Les Chansons D’Amour aka Love Song~, sejak baca di jurnalnya Annisa ttg film ini dah penasaran, apalagi setelah nonton Clip Ma Memoire Sale di Youtube hyaaa~ so romantic. This musical movie definitly got the most beautiful man on man love scene i’ve ever seen on cinema ^0^ (katanya sih the best after Maurice tp karena sy blom pernah nonton Maurice jd ga bisa ngebandingin) apalagi Lyric2 dalam filmnya artinya daleem bgt emang bener ya French is the language of love

Translation

Ma Memoire Sale

Wash…
My soiled memory in its muddy stream
with your tounge’s tip lick me clean
and remove every single trace of what has been
of what binds me of what comes to pass Alas

Stalk…
Hunt her down for within me she fights
And when you have her in your sights
do not heed her pleas and cries
you know that she has to die
this is her second demise and so
kill her again

Weep…
I’ve done that before, all in vain
More sobs just wet the pillows again
Despite my tries, despite my tries
I have a dried up heart and swollen eyes
I have a dried up heart and swollen eyes

So burn!!
Burn when you sink into my bed of ice
It melts when you hug me like a vice
There’s no more sorrow no more gravity
If I have your body washing over me
like a flow of lava*
My soiled memory in its muddy stream
Lava Wash
My soiled memory in its muddy stream
Wash

*) it’s the same word in French for lava and wash so the word is said only once but is used in two sentences)

The cast:

Lois Garrel

Gregoire Le-prince Rinquet (on a movie i knew nothing of :P)

  1. SPOILER!!

my fav soundtrack (J’ai cru entendre) eng trans

    I thought I heard

    Dear, since this morning
I’ve been hanging our like a moron
    At gutter level
    From Montparnasse to Château d’Eau*
I’ve been drinking shots after shots
    Zubrowska, Riesling, Piper
    Out of everyting, totally wrecked
    I came back home

    I just wanted a body
I was just looking for arms
A bed of comfort, delights under the sheets
    But, alas, instead of that
    I thought I heard “I love you”
    I thought it’s his problem
    I thought I heard “I love you”
    I thought it’s his problem
It doesn’t matter if you believe it
It doesn’t matter if I am
    Totally wrecked
    Out of everything
But I don’t want that between us

Being just a body, it’s okay with me
Offering you my arms, why not
    My bed, still why not
To laugh until soiling the sheets
But I’m afraid that for all this
You’d have to hear “I love you”
You’d have to hear “I love you”

I am old, widowed and sectarian
    A pitiful idiotic secretary

I am handsome, young and Breton
I smell like rain, ocean and lemon crepes
    Stop talking, my beloved
    You’re completely wrong, once again
    I’m very precious, spare me
Okay, but I don’t want this between us
Being just a body, it’s okay with me
I was just looking for arms
    My bed, still why not
    Delights under the sheets
But I’m afraid that for all this
    You’d have to hear …
