Review : A tap into the colorfull world of BL webtoon/manhwa

Lately i’m following more and more manhwa from korea and china. It is very interesting to watch the evolution and adaptation of Japanese manga art in other countries

i believe lots of BL fans already know about this very refreshin manhua/webtoon in full colour especially 19 days and bagjwi sayug, but i’m sure you wont mind if i review it again

19 Days (19  Tian)

19days is a chinese BL manga by the author OldXian This slice  of life comedical story revolves around two buddies called Jian Yi and Zhan Zhenxi and their entangled dramatical relationship

being true to the slice of life aspect, this story is really like slices and pieces of life around the coming of age of these boys. Beside the shonen-ai aspect, this story is about true friendship and we get to feel the emotion and suffering of this teenager who are still figuring out and dont know what to do with their life and their feeling

Raising a Bat (Bagjwi Sayug)

Park Min Gyeom is a human with a disease called hemochromatosis  his blood absorbs too much iron, so he has to donate it regularly to stay healthy. Kim Chun Sam is a half-vampire who needs blood to live. So begins an unusual symbiotic relationship between “predator” and “prey.”

Bagjwi Sayug is a sweet coming of age story about an awkward vampire, and a bitter wounded boy. It was really  cute at first but it is also really dark dealing with emotional abuse and a series of messed up misunderstanding gone wrong and the long healing process.

Out of Control (Bbong); Never Understand

I LOVEEEEEEE this unusual pair of stubborn ugly duckling and the mean ‘ice hearted’ prince. It isnt like typical shoujo or bl manga where the heroin consider themself ugly but infact still drawn really cute. Jaerim IS ugly but it doesnt stop Yuri to fall hard head over heels about him

Moritat is a psychological thriller in this story we try to unravel what have really happened before Jesse lost his memory and the mind battle between the two character Jesse and Law. What does Law really want ? Does he really love him or he just want to control Jesse to take his power and wealth. From what i’ve read so far this story is certainly not a romance.

Beneath the fantastical alternate universe background i like how true they describing a bdsm dominant submissive relationship, which is each party involved should consent and enjoy the aspect of this relationship. It was focusing on the bdsm build up at the start but its not all about that we can enjoy very interesting plot and also emotional sweetness as we see the two main character falls in love

Royal Servant

You can see it painfully clear from the title and the synopsis that this manhwa also explore the topic of dominant submissive relationship. But in this manga you didnt get to see the sweet aspect of it or maybe it didn’t reach that part yet. You can see Kyon is not actually enjoying bdsm treatment by Lucaon he is just submitting because he falls in love with Lucaon and he did getting aroused because he gets to have sex with the man of his dreams but its not consensual at first in my opinion

Honestly i still dont know what to expect from this manga beneath those angry predisposition and the high sexual  tense between the two main character

Go Siwon’s dreams are constantly visited by the clever, beautiful Kang Jinha. In the dream, Jinha keeps on mentioning this “incident” that happened between them but Siwon can’t remember anything! And how can it feel so real? Luckily for Siwon, hints about the “incident” start to appear and Siwon is able to regain his memory bit by bit. How will their relationship change at the end

Keep on seeing a weird dream with someone he hardly ever talked too, go siwon was troubled but also really curious about kang jinha . I found another reaccuring pattern in these manhwa which is the cold domineering seme roles often potrayed as blond/light colored hair guy, and a reluctant uke that is often unwillingly forced into the relationship this pattern was really popular in classic japanese manga as well and you can see it very clearly in stories like royal servant, what lies at the end and a man like you.

After reading all of this juicy webtoon i’ve become familiar with one name LEZHIN which is a webtoon manhwa publisher to watch for , they have whole range of other stuff that making us addicted you can click it on the banner below
